Virtek Communication provides solutions to enhance data communication, by connecting the office to remote networks like vessels, remote land destinations and air planes. Virtek has become partner of the Platform Broadband@Sea. The experience and knowledge in fields of networks for the maritime industry can contribute to the platform.
Platform Broadband@Sea at the MECC’10 in London
The 2nd conference of Marine Electronics & Communications took place on the 22-23 of June in London. The Platform Broadband@Sea was represented and introduced to the attending delegates of this conference by means of a presentation.

Radio Holland USA (Houston, TX) has been awarded a multi-year contract for supply of VSAT and airtime services for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS).

Globecomm Systems Inc. announced that they acquired Carrier 2 Carrier. Last year March, Globecomm acquired Mach6, one of the Platform partners of Broadband@Sea.
Stratos introduces IP address management service
Stratos has introduced a new worldwide single IP access service called Public IP Access, intended for customers requiring a static IP address to run their applications over Inmarsat broadband systems.

A live connection was established at Europort with the Innovation Relay at airport Valkenburg (The Netherlands) between the Dutch minister Eurlings and Adriana Faria de Araújo from the Holland Marine House Brazil. Goal of the connection was to promote the innovation platform Broadband@Sea.

In the lounge of the Holland Pavilion at the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam, a new phase of the innovative project Broadband@Sea will be presented.
Radio Holland adds Ku-band footprint to its global VSAT network
In August 2009, Radio Holland signed an agreement for the VSAT Ku-band footprint T11N. With this new footprint Radio Holland significantly improves its network for VSAT. The Telstar 11N is designed to be a Ku-band satellite with an Atlantic Ocean beam. This beam is very important for the shipping industry, sailing between North-America and Europe. The extension adds to the strategic priority of Radio Holland to provide seamless global coverage of maritime broadband communications.
Stratos is First Inmarsat Distribution Partner to Reach 1,000 FleetBroadband Activations
Bethesda, Maryland (February 26, 2009) - Stratos Global Corporation, the leading global provider of advanced mobile and fixed-site remote communications solutions, today announced it has reached a milestone of 1,000 FleetBroadband activations.
